Consider the needs of your tank and what is acceptable in your house. The way you move water is not as important as the way the water moves. Hello-I have just received my new Wavebox and installed it. These are not all the options, but the most widely used and economical. When the water fills, the float rises and opens the flood gates! These both come in a multitude of variations and can be used on any size tank. The Borneman Surge Device uses the Plunger/Float idea of the toilet. They fill and drain accordingly with your plumbing. The plumbing in a CSD is not unlike a standard toilet. Carlson Surge Devices utilize Toilet Bowl theory, which when filled to a certain level send water shooting out of them. Price wise, the Korallia would be a bit cheaper than a Tunze powerhead setup, but I dunno anyone that's using them so no idea how they work compared to Tunze powerheads.External wave devices are also an option. You don't need real live wave action, though. Neither the Korallia or Tunze powerhead controllers are going to really create "waves". There are also controllable tunze powerheads you can put on a multicontroller. Does anybody have any experience with or know about any of these products? What type of water movement would be best if my stock plan is mostly LPS (Duncans, frogspawn, hammer, etc.), zoanthids, mushrooms, and maybe a clam? For a 180g Bowfront tank (72' x 29high x 18+) which would be my best choice for intank wave like circulation. I'm setting up a 75 gallon aquarium, and I am confused of what I should use for water movement. ![]()
